Jacopo Stortini

I photograph people and places in the hour when the light stops performing. Fifteen years behind a camera taught me that the frame worth keeping usually arrives after the posed one — a shoulder drops, a breath goes out, and the person finally shows up.

My work moves between intimate portraiture, quiet landscapes and editorial assignments for magazines and brands. I shoot 35mm and medium-format film alongside digital, and I print everything myself in a small darkroom in Lisbon, where I live with too many negatives and a stubborn dog named Fig.

Clients include Kinfolk, Monocle, Aesop and a long list of couples, founders and families who wanted something more honest than a headshot. If that sounds like the kind of picture you're after, the door is open.
